In addition to providing a comfortable and safe surface for work and play, rubber flooring plays an important part in helping the environment. Most of our rubber matting is made from recycled tires. Each year, there are approximately 300 MILLION scrap tires produced in North America alone!
Did you know?
- Every recycled 14 lb. tire yields 10 lbs. of high quality synthetic rubber, 2 lbs. of metal and 2 lbs. of nylon fibre, all of which are reusable!
- Of the approximately 300 million scrap tires produced per year in North America, about 45% are incinerated, 40% go to landfills and dumps, and only approx. 15% are recycled
