The number of scrap tires produced globally is astonishing. In North America, approximately 300 MILLLION scrap tires are generated every year. That's approximately one tire per person per year! Collectively, the United States, the European Union, Eastern Europe, Japan, the Middle East, and Latin America produce about 1 BILLION scrap tires annually. Of these scrap tires, approximately 40-50% are added to already massive stockpiles. It is estimated that there are approximately 6 BILLION scrap tires stockpiled in North America alone.
